Two eclipses in a month which are occurring within a month in a row in 2023, between April 20 and May 5, are not auspicious for the prominent leaders, the economy, as well as political stability.

The First eclipse of 2023 (the first Solar eclipse)
The first one is a Hybrid Solar eclipse which is a combination of an annular and Total eclipse. This eclipse will occur on April 20, 2023, from 07:04 A.M. to 12: 29 P.M. (IST). It will not be visible in India.
This Solar eclipse will be visible in parts of Antarctica, Southeast Asia, Australia, the Pacific Ocean, and the Indian Ocean.
Based on past experiences, a Solar eclipse is not always bad for people’s personal life.
The Second eclipse of 2023 (the first Lunar eclipse)
The first Lunar eclipse is the Penumbral Lunar eclipse, which will occur on 5th May 2023. It will be visible in all major cities of India. It will not be visible by naked eye in India.
The third eclipse of 2023 (the Second Solar eclipse)
The Second Solar eclipse will occur on October 14, 2023. It is the last Solar Eclipse of 2023. But it will not be visible in India.
The fourth eclipse of 2023 (the Second Lunar eclipse)
The second lunar eclipse of 2023 is a partial Lunar Eclipse. It will occur on October 29, 2023, on Kartik Shukla Paksha Purnima.

Sutak Period
Sutak begins at 02:52 PM, October 28, 2023, and ends at 2:22 AM.
The partial lunar Eclipse will be visible from different cities in India, and the Sutak period will be valid throughout all of India, as it is visible in most of the cities in India.
Visibility of the eclipse
Lunar eclipses can be visible from everywhere in the world on the night side of the Earth if the sky is clear. Though from some places, the entire eclipse will be visible, while in other areas the Moon will not be visible at times, during the lunar eclipse.

Rules to follow during Sutak (inauspicious period)
It is necessary to follow certain rules during the Sutak period. The Sutak period is an inauspicious time, so during this period, one must not carry out some tasks.

Total Lunar Eclipse

1) Snan-Daan or charity to needy persons will be helpful in getting rid of most of the problems coming in one’s life due to sins(bad karma).
Chant Mantras
2) Chant Mantras during the Eclipse to get rid of the bad effects of the Solar eclipse or Lunar eclipse.
This period is very significant for Mantra-Siddhi and fulfills an individual’s long-awaited desires through the holy dip and charity (Snan-Daan) and Mantra Siddhi.
Avoid all the auspicious events
3) But one should avoid all the auspicious events or during the period of Surya Grahan or Solar eclipse) or Chandra Grahan (Lunar eclipse).
4) To avoid the effects of the eclipse, take bath or dip in the holy river after the Eclipse ends.
People should take a bath after the Sutak period.
Charity or Daan
5) Charity or Daan to poor or needy persons after the bath may help in removing the bad effects of the eclipse.
6) Perform rituals by donating clothes, bedding, or food to priests, needy persons, and cows after taking bath.
Sutak is applicable only to the places where the eclipse is visible in any form.
Avoid the activities during the Sutak period of Solar eclipses or Lunar eclipses, which are as follows:
1) Do not see solar eclipses with the naked eye.
2) Sutak starts 12 hours before the eclipse. Avoid the following activities during Sutak, as this is an inauspicious Dosha period:
i) A new business should not be started.
ii) Any auspicious work should not be performed during the Sutak period or eclipse.
Precautions for pregnant women
iii) People, especially pregnant women should not come out in the open under the rays of the eclipse (especially Solar Eclipse).
Women should not cut anything or eat during the eclipse. However, It is not applicable to children, old or sick persons.
iv) Eat only fresh or covered food after the eclipse, and avoid any leftover food.
v) Do not worship the idols of God in the temple or the house.
