Parivartan Yoga/ Mutual exchange Yoga forms when lords of two houses exchange their position in each other’s houses, and both the planets get mutual strength. Due to mutual exchange, energy enhances, making both houses stronger and more powerful.

This Parivartan Yoga or Mutual Exchange Yoga is one of the most powerful, influential, strong, and special planetary combinations in natal charts and it is very simple to understand.

The results good or bad are according to the position and strength of the houses, occupied by both the ruling planets involved, throughout life, especially in their periods and sub-periods.

Dates of Parivartan Yoga due to the transit of Mars and Mercury in their signs.

Mars transits to Gemini on March 13, and Mercury transits to Aries on March 31, 2023.

As a result, Parivartan Yoga starts on March 31 and ends on May 10, 2023.

Want to know how is Parivartan Yoga or Mutual Exchange Yoga created?

Parivartan or Parivartan Yoga or mutual exchange Yoga in an individual’s astrological birth chart is a special planetary combination.

A mutual exchange of houses by two sign lords (ruling planets) is involved in it. Thus the power of these two occupied houses increases.

The results of most of the Parivartan Yoga (combinations) are extremely good.

Sthan Parivartan Yoga or ‘in reception’

In other words, if two ruling planets or sign lords mutually exchange their positions and occupy each other’s houses, there is a Parivartan Yoga or Sthan-Parivartan yoga.

In western astrology, this position is called ‘in reception’.

The explanation for Parivartan Yoga/ Mutual Exchange Yoga

If explained in more simple words, if planet A is in the sign of planet B and planet B is in the sign of planet A, there is a Parivartan Yoga.

Example: Suppose the ascendant (Lagna) or 1st house is Sagittarius. Jupiter (Guru) is strong in its own sign Sagittarius (Dhanu) and Mercury is strong in Virgo (Kanya) due to its own sign.

If Jupiter occupies Virgo (10th house) and Mercury occupies Sagittarius (1st house) their energies are mutually exchanging the houses they occupy. They become more powerful due to the mutual exchange.

Parivartan yoga or Mutual Exchange Yoga

Results:

There may be unexpected and sudden changes (events), which are extremely good or bad according to the strength of the planets and houses they rule or occupy in astrological charts.

A sequence of Signs:

Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces.

Their ruling planets in sequence:

Mars, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Saturn, Jupiter.

Kinds of Parivartan Yoga or Mutual Exchange Yoga

Parivartan Yoga may be divided into three main kinds, based on houses involved in the mutual exchange.

They are Maha Yoga, Kahala Yoga, Dainya Yoga

Maha Yoga or Maha Parivartan Raj Yoga

This yoga is different from Maha Bhagya Yoga. Maha Yoga is an auspicious Yoga and both the sign lords of auspicious houses are involved in this yoga.

Maha Yoga forms when both the interchanged sign lords (ruling planets) belong to only auspicious houses.

That means the mutual exchange is between any two sign lords of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, or 11th house from the ascendant.

Results:

People born under Maha Parivartan Yoga are fortunate and achieve all that they like to acquire in their life.

They get political power, prosperity, name, fame, status, and authority. They are fortunate enough to enjoy big luxurious bungalows, luxury cars, and many servants.

Examples

Many prominent leaders including Presidents and Prime Ministers of many countries had this Yoga in their astrological birth charts.

Former Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi had three Parivartan yoga in her birth chart. Pepsi Co-chairman and CEO Indira Nooyi also Parivartan Yoga in her astrological chart.

Explanation:

To explain more clearly, when the auspicious houses, Kendra (1st,4th,7th 10th house), Trikona (1st,5th,9th house), Dushthan (2nd house) represent wealth, or Labhasthan (11th house) represents income and prosperity, mutually exchange their houses, Maha Yoga is formed.

In Maha Yoga all the inauspicious houses (Dusthan) i.e., 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th are excluded. here are twenty-eight possible Maha Yoga.

The Maha Parivartan Raj Yoga is an auspicious Yoga, it forms due to the following exchange Yogas:

I. 1) 1st house and 2nd house. 2) 1st house and 4th house. 3) 1st and 5th house. 4) 1st and 7th house. 5) 1st and 9th house. 6) 1st and 10th house 7) 1st house 11th house.

II. 1) 2nd house and 4th house. 2) 2nd house and 5th house. 3) 2nd house and 9th house. 4) 2nd house and 10th house. 5) 2nd house and 11th house.

III. 1) 4th house and 5th house. 2) 4th house and 7th house. 3) 4th house and 9th house. 4) 4th and 10th house. 5) 4th house and 11th house.

IV. 1) 5th house and 7th house. 2) 5th house and 9th house. 3) 5th house and 10th house. 4) 5th and 11th house.

IV. 1) 7th house and 9th house. 2) 7th house and 10th house. 3) 7th house and 11th house.

VI. 1) 9th house and 10th house. 2) 9th house and 11th house.

VII. 1) 10th house and 11th house.

VIII. 1) 2nd house and 7th house.

Note: These two houses (2nd and 7th) are Marak houses, so the exchange should be especially between auspicious planets or Shubh Graha.

Auspicious exchange Yoga results may be produced by the following planets:

Maha Parivartan Raj Yoga gives auspicious results.

It should be created between the following planets:

Sun and Mercury, Sun and Jupiter, Sun and Venus, Moon and Mercury, Moon and Jupiter, Moon and Venus, Mercury and Jupiter, Mercury and Venus, and Jupiter and Venus.

The exchange of Yoga between other planets whether it is auspicious, less auspicious, or inauspicious, may vary according to their ownership and strength or characteristics.

Example:

If Taurus is the ascendant, the sign lord of the 4th house Sun is in the 5th house. The sign lord of the 5th house Mercury is in the 4th house, both the sign lords are in mutual exchange and Maha Parivartan Yoga is present.

The person is very lucky, in relation to the progeny and self.

Results of Maha Parivartan Raj Yoga

Maha yoga or Maha Parivartan Yoga gives rise to power, authority, status, prosperity, and wealth and there are beneficial influences from the houses in involvement.

The individual will have expensive clothes and ornaments and get honored by authorities or the king.

He/ She will hold a high position, and enjoy wealth and conveyances according to the strength of houses involved in the astrological birth chart.

The person will be lucky regarding progeny and property. He/ she will have good children as well as he will have good houses and expensive conveyances.

Maha Parivartan Raj Yoga is forms due to Parivartan between involved auspicious house lords.

1) 1st and 5th house, 5th and 9th house, or 1st and 9th house: gives rise to authority and political power.

2) 2nd and 5th house, 2nd and 11th house, or 5th and 11th house: Gives rise to financial position and status.

3) 1st and 4th house, 1st and 7th house, 2nd and 4th house, 2nd and 7th house, 2nd and 9th house, 4th and 7th house: gives rise to prosperity and fortune.

4) 4th and 5th house: make one educated and gives rise to knowledge, prosperity, and good fortune for children.

5) the 4th and 10th house: gives rise to career and professional life.

6) 5th and 7th house: gives success to love and relationship affairs.

7) 1st and 10th house, 5th and 10th house: give rise to status and political power.

8) 7th and 9th house, 7th and 10th house: give rise to good luck, career and position.

9) 7th and 11th house: gives rise to career and financial position.

10) 9th and 10th house, 10th and 11th house, or 11th and 9th house: Gives rise to good fortune, status, and financial position.

Kahala Yoga:

The involvement of the third house in Kahala Yoga represents courage and hard work.

Kahal yoga is present when there is a mutual exchange between the sign lord of the 3rd house and the sign lord of one of the auspicious houses i.e., 1st, 2nd, 4th 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, or 11th house from the ascendant.

Explanation: In Kahala yoga, the mutual exchange is only between sign lords of the 3rd house and an auspicious house. This means 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th 10th, or 11th house. Here it is obvious that lords of the 6th, 8th, 12th houses are not involving in it.

There are eight possible Kahala Yoga.

Example: Suppose Aries is the ascendant, 3rd sign Gemini’s ruling planet Mercury is in the 10th house, and 10th sign Capricorn’s ruling planet Saturn is in the 3rd house, Kahala Yoga is present due to mutual exchange.

Kahala Yoga person will be courageous and hard-working.

The results of Kahala Yoga are as follows:

The third house represents courage or hard work. This means the person will have to struggle hard to improve his condition. There will be fluctuations in life.

The person will be very prosperous or driven to poverty and will face lots of difficulties but manage all the situations very efficiently. He will be prosperous with his/ her own efforts and hard work.

Sometimes he/ she will be harsh and sweet in the speech at other times.

Note: In both Maha Yoga and Kahala Yoga, inauspicious house lords (Dusthan) i.e.,6th, 8th, and 12th houses from ascendant are excluded from the exchange.

Danya Yoga one of the inauspicious house lords i.e., 6th, 8th, and 12th house lords are involved in the mutual exchange.

In Vipareet Raj Yoga both the inauspicious house lords (Dusthan lords) i.e., lords of the 6th, 8th or 12th house are involved exclusively, in a mutual exchange of two planets.

Danya yoga:

Danya means poor or miserable, this Yoga will give its results during the Dasha or Antardasha of the house lords and their positions, involving.

When one of the involved sign lords is lord of an inauspicious house or Dusthan Bhava. These Dusthan Bhava are 6th, 8th, 12th and the other one belongs to an auspicious house i.e., 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 3rd house from ascendant, Dainya Yoga forms.

Dainya Yoga is different from Kahal Yoga

The mutual exchange between the 3rd and any of the inauspicious house lords. That means 3rd and 6th house lords or 3rd and 8th house lords or 3rd and 12th house lords are considered Dainya Yoga, not Kahala Yoga.

Note: Kahala Yoga is always between 3rd and an auspicious house lords.

Explanation: This Yoga will form in the following cases:

When one of the planets involves in this yoga is the ruling planet of the 3rd, 6th, 8th, or 12th house. The other one is the ruling planet of an auspicious house, Dainya Yoga forms.

Here the auspicious house in mutual exchange may be damaged, up to some extent.

Generally, the 6th, 8th, and 12th are unfavorable houses but these houses get strength due to the influence of the auspicious house.

Example: Suppose the ascendant is Gemini and the ruling planet Saturn of the 8th house (Capricorn) is in the 10th house, and the ruling planet of the 10th house (Pisces) Jupiter is in the 8th house.

The career of the person may damage up to some extent while the 8th house will be stronger, and the person will inherit the hidden asset.

Results of Danya Yoga: According to Vedic Indian text, the person born with Dainya Yoga will be a fool, will criticize others, and will indulge in sinful deeds.

His speech will be harsh and his mind will not be stable. He will always be in trouble with enemies or face obstacles in some of his ventures.

There are thirty possible Dainya Yoga

There are thirty possible Dainya yoga, six of them are actually Vipareet Raj Yoga, and thus there are only twenty-four Dainya Yoga in all.

Another kind of Parivartan Yoga is as follows:

Vipareet Parivartan Yoga:

This auspicious exchange Yoga is a powerful yoga, which forms by sign lords of only two inauspicious houses (Dusthana).

Explanation: Vipareet Parivartan Yoga or Vipareet Raj Yoga forms due to mutual exchange (Parivartan) between any two sign lords of inauspicious houses (Dusthan bhava) i. e. 6th, 8th, or 12th house from ascendant.

No involvement of auspicious houses and their sign lords

In Vipareet Raj Yoga, though there is no involvement of sign lords of auspicious houses, it is a beneficial and positive exchange of Yoga.

It is because this Yoga forms due to the mutual exchange of energies between two negative houses.

Sign lords should not be in debilitated sign

These sign lords should not be in debilitation (Neech Rashi) as this will not be a strong Vipareet Parivartan Yoga due to debilitating signs.

Results of Vipareet Raj Yoga:

Vipareet Raj Yoga is a powerful yoga and gives positive and auspicious results beyond one’s expectations. The person will achieve success and prosperity even in adverse circumstances, though delayed.

Navamsha Parivartan Yoga

If two Navamsha lords mutually exchange their positions and occupy each other’s houses, Navamsha Parivartan Yoga or Raj Yoga is formed.

This is an auspicious and very powerful yoga and strengthens both houses to produce the auspicious results.

Explanation: In Navamsha Parivartan Yoga, the Navamsha lords of two houses, in the Navamsha chart, mutually exchange their houses, instead of sign lords of the birth chart.

Example: Suppose in the Navamsha chart, the ascendant is Leo, the 4th house lord Mars and 5th house lord Jupiter are in mutual exchange, they will certainly form Navamsha Parivartan yoga, which is a powerful Yoga.

Results of Navamsha Parivartan Yoga:

A person born with this yoga will enjoy prosperity and good luck related to the houses (Bhava) involved in it.

The person will have good houses and expensive conveyances due to the strong 4th house. The children will have a bright career and prosperous life, due to a strong 5th house.

Nakshatra Parivartan Yoga

When two Nakshatra (constellation) lords mutually exchange their positions, Nakshatra Parivartan Yoga is formed.

Explanation: Two ruling planets of constellations mutually exchange their positions and occupy each other’s houses.

Here sign lords are not involved but constellation lords are involved in a mutual exchange.

Example: If the ascendant is Taurus, the 5th house lord Mercury is in the 4th house in Uttara Phalguni constellation (Leo). Sun being its constellation (Nakshatra) lord; the 4th house lord sun is in the 11th house in Revati constellation (Pisces).

Mutual exchange is between two constellation lords

Mercury is also its constellation lord, the mutual exchange is between two constellation lords (Sun and Mercury).

Thus it is not between two house lords (4th and 5th). Here both the 4th house and 11th house gain strength due to the mutual exchange of Nakshatra.

In the above case, the results will be mainly available during their planetary Dasha and Antar Dasha.

Results of Nakshatra Parivartan Yoga:

This is an auspicious and powerful yoga. Both the houses involved get strength during the period of their running Mahadasha and Antar-Dasha.

As a result they keep repeating and producing good results, throughout the person’s life.

Karaka Parivartan Yoga or Significator exchange yoga

When Karaka or the significator of two houses mutually exchange their houses, the Karaka Parivartan Yoga forms, as a result of this exchange.

Explanation: If one house mutually exchanges the energy with the energy of the other houses, then the significance of both the houses is also exchanged.

Example: Suppose Aries is the ascendant and mutual exchange is between the 5th and 9th houses. Here 9th house lord Jupiter is Karaka of luck and 5th house lord Sun is Karaka of progeny.

Results of Karaka Parivartan Yoga: Luck prospects for both self and Progeny will be excellent. Efforts will certainly bring prosperity and success in life.
