Certain auspicious Nakshatra, Tithi, day and time are considered shubh Muhurat for marriage. Only eleven Nakshatra among twenty eight Nakshatra are favorable. Akshaya Tritiya and Dev Uthani Ekadashi Tithis which come once in every year, are generally considered Shubh for deciding Shubh Muhurat for marriage.
However, there are some unfavorable Nakshatra,Tithi, period(time) during the combustion of Shukra or Jupiter in (Shukra Ast or Guru Asta) other Ashubh yoga periods,which are avoided for marriage in Vedic The study of the influence of celestial bodies on earth and humans.
First quarter (charana) of Magha and Moola and the last quarter of Revati are known as Ati Gand Mool Nakshatra, one should avoid this Nakshatra for the auspicious marriage Muhurat.
The presence of any one of all the three Uttara Nakshatra is an auspicious day for all the auspicious events. Some astrologers believe that Uttara Phalguni nakshatra should be avoided for marriage.
During auspicious Navaratri days, marriage can be performed, if necessary.
Pushya Nakshatra is inauspicious for marriage, though it is the most auspicious Nakshatra for all the events. This is an exception to the general rule.
Abhijit nakshatra, a masculine but not a regular nakshatra, lies from 6.40’ to 10.53’.20 in Capricorn i.e. last quarter of Uttara Ashadha and first 1/15th part of Shravana, is also an auspicious Nakshatra for marriage ceremony. If falls on a Wednesday, one should avoid it.

Marriage dates ended on 11th July, 2018 during Chaumasa. There will be no marriage ceremony dates from July 12, 2018 till November 19, 2018. Auspicious marriage ceremony dates or Shubh Vivah Muhurat will start again from 19th November 2018.

Shubh Muhurat or Marriage dates for Year 2019
The auspicious wedding dates or Shubh Vivah Muhurat for performing marriage in year 2019 will be only in these months: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, November and December.
There are a few auspicious wedding dates or Shubh Vivah Muhurat for performing marriage in November and December, 2019 according to some Panchangas.
Auspicious Hindu Vivah Tithi or dates(Shubh Muhurat for marriage) based on Indian Vedic astrology for year 2019 will start again in January. Marriage dates for 2019 are from 17th January(Thursday)to 11 July, 2019; 8th November to 12th December 2019.
No marriage ceremony is recommended during Shukra Tara Asta period. Auspicious period for performing marriage or Shubh Muhurat for marriage begins with the rise of Venus or Shukra Tara Uday (Shukroday).
Dates for Shukra Tara Asta and Shukrodaya are as follows:
Shukra Tara Asta starts on July 09, 2019 (Tuesday). Shukra Tara will rise on September 19, 2019 (Thursday).

Inauspicious Muhurat for marriage
i). It is recommended that marriage ceremony should not be performed on birthdays, during the period of Venus or Jupiter’s combustion (Guru or Shukra Asta) Gulika or Rahukalam or Period of Rahu is different for each day and it should be avoided for any auspicious work or event.
ii). Eight days’ period, in the month of Phalgun, which generally falls in the month of February or March just before Holi is known as Holashtak, it is also avoided for performing marriage in some parts of North India. Holashtak period will be from March 14, 2019 to March 21, 2019.
iii). Kharmas, Adhik Maas and Shraddha Paksha (Mahalaya) are considered inauspicious, should be avoided for Hindu wedding. Kharmas will be from December 16, 2018 to January 14, 2019. Another Kharmas period of 2019 will be from March 14, to April 14, 2019

Abhijit Muhurta is an auspicious for performing marriages. The word Abhijit means victorious, Muhurta or Muhurtha means auspicious moment; anything done during this time ensures victory. Abhijit Muhurta, an important time is one of the simplest methods to select an auspicious time for performing any important event or ceremony, like engagement or marriage, without any calculation of Tithi or Nakshatra.
If Abhijit Muhurta falls on a Wednesday, performing of the auspicious events are avoided. Abhijit Muhurta of a particular place is calculated on the basis of L.M.T. of that place, begins 24 minutes before and 24 minutes after 12 noon, i.e. from 11:36 AM to 12:24 PM, total 48 minutes. Performing of most of the marriage ceremonies is preferred in Abhijit Muhurta in many parts of India.
Note: Traveling towards south direction should be avoided during Abhijit Muhurat.
